The Chatham County Young Democrats is the county’s official youth arm of the Chatham County Democratic Committee. Members of our organization strive to make a positive difference in the community by working within the political process and upholding the principles of the Democratic Party. Our membership base reflects the broad diversity of youth in Chatham County including college students and young professionals.
Young Democrats of Georgia work to:
Elect Democratic Candidates and encourage youth involvement.
Support the ideals of the Democratic Party at all levels of government.
Provide young people with the skills and experiences to lead our state and our nation.
The mission of the Chatham County Young Democrats is to assist youth in developing leadership to run for office and manage campaigns. Furthermore, we provide these services for youth to become more engaged in the political process and raise awareness about political and social issues.
The strategic vision of the Chatham County Young Democrats is using community outreach to get 30,000 additional young people throughout Georgia to vote Democratic by 2010.
Our values that "define to the world and to ourselves who we are and what we stand for" are:
D.E.M.S.
Democratic- appeal to the broad masses; favoring social equality
Excellence- be the best in quality and in everything we do
Motivation- motivating young people to be involved in the political process
Service- actively involved in our communities by volunteering, community service, and networking.
